Hello World!

Hello World!

Welcome to Crafting at the Buzzer! I am a mom of three. They are active and very busy kids. Mostly, we have focused many years on soccer, a sport we absolutely adore in this family. However, in the past year, my kids have tried basketball, swimming, track, cross country running and dance team. We stay pretty active around here. While I am usually a busy chauffeur getting my kids to and from practices and games, I have over the past few years found myself spending a lot of time crafting and making various sports team related gifts. This is a space where I am hoping to share with you useful projects that you can make, often times the projects are sports related, but they can easily be adapted to suit whatever your non-sport needs are as well!

I often do internet searches and browse Pinterest to find ideas for tournament goodies and sports wear for the kids. I decided recently that there might be a niche for me out here in cyber space to share what I’ve been making, and how I’ve done it. A spot for those of you hoping to dabble in creating some fun new things, but maybe are overwhelmed by ALL the things you can find out there.

In the past, I considered myself to be a reluctantly crafty person. I explain a bit of my past crafting reluctance in this blog post here. I’ve always had a desire to create, but haven’t always had the means or the ability to make quality loot. As I would browse craft stores I would see all the possibilities, but not know exactly how to pull it all together. That all changed a few years ago when I bought a Cricut Maker 3 (affiliate link). While the initial price felt steep at the time, this marvel of a machine has come in so handy as I am a procrastinator and often don’t have time to order the things I want made. It has saved me some money in team (group) gifting and provided me an outlet to make some really great and extra personalized gifts.

I’ve made sports water bottles and personalized cooling towels for the soccer teams. I’ve made matching shirts for the soccer team for a special Halloween tournament. The cross country team recently got sweatpants and hats with a logo I designed. I’ve outfitted myself with personalized sweatshirts to cheer on my favorite teams when I can’t find what I want at the store. Our school PTA wanted to make t-shirt prizes for a fundraiser, and also keep the costs down. I designed a logo and put the shirts together for them which allowed more fundraiser money to go to the school while providing some motivational prizes for the kids to look forward to.

I will use affiliate links to the products I’ve used throughout my posts. This will allow you easy access to the products I used that actually worked. Consider this a stop in cyber space where hopefully you will be able to get everything you need for each project I present all in one place.

I want you to have that chance to create too, especially if it’s something you’ve wanted to try, but haven’t known how. Honestly, I never would have expected to have enjoyed it as much as I have, but it’s been a great outlet for me. I have made plenty of beginner mistakes along the way and I want to share those with you, so you can be more successful from the outset than I initially was. Follow along as I revisit some of the past projects I’ve made and as I add new projects in the future. I am excited to share this crafting journey with you! Welcome and I am so glad you’re here!

Welcome to Crafting at the Buzzer! This little slice of the internet is dedicated to those a little less crafty, but with a desire to create beautiful and meaningful projects. I am a procrastinator by nature, so many of my projects often get done at the last minute, which adds an element of unpredictability to my crafting process. However, I’ve learned that even the most rushed creations can bring joy and satisfaction, and this blog will serve as a means for me to revisit past projects, share my experiences, and improve upon them, so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did. Here, I will not only showcase my progress but also provide tips, tricks, and insights that I’ve gathered along the way, creating a community where we can inspire each other to step out of our comfort zones and embrace our creative sides.
